After a soft opening, Fourth Street Restaurant at 500 E. 4th Street in Royal Oak is holding its grand opening on Wednesday.
The restaurant has moved into the space previously occupied by the popular vegetarian Inn Season Cafe, which officially closed in 2023 after more than 40 years in business. Customers had been rooting for a comeback for the restaurant, which never came to fruition.
On Tuesday, the restaurant posted on Facebook:
"Tomorrow at 5 p.m. is the ribbon-cutting for our long-awaited opening!! City officials and the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce will be attending!! The restaurant is open for normal business operations, the bar is open for free wine tasting and some appetizers (finger food)!! All my friends and followers are invited!! See you all and love you all!!"
While the restaurant is not strictly vegetarian, it does offer vegetarian options. Unlike Inn Season Cafe, it serves adult beverages.
The restaurant’s brunch menu includes omelets, pancakes and breakfast bowls.
The dinner menu features salmon, three-cheese grilled cheese, chicken strip pita, burgers, a corned beef and turkey sandwich, steak frites, pork chops, stir fry and mushroom and truffle risotto.
